Aim: The course focuses on theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the 3 dimensions of sustainable development in cities – social, economic and environmental. Basic topics include theoretical concept of sustainability in urban areas, exploring social contexts, concept of building „resilient cities“ and theory of „new urbanism“, building sustainable infrastructure (water, energy, transport), and aimed at climate change strategies on a local level. Measurement of sustainability on a local level. A part of the course deals with sociology of settlements.
