For the operation of the faculty fan page on the social networks of Meta platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (hereinafter also referred to as "the Company"), UMB and the Company are so-called joint controllers within the meaning of Article 26 of the GDPR.

Our fan page is a user account on the Company's platform, which is the operator of Facebook and Instagram. We have created our Fan Page to present and promote life and events at faculty to users of the Company's social network as well as to persons who visit our Fan Page. Our fan page administrator can collect anonymous statistical data about visitors to the fan page through a feature called "Facebook Insight", which is provided free of charge by the Company. This data is collected through hidden cookies, each of which contains a unique user code that is active for a period of two years, stored by the Company on the hard drive of the end device of the fan page visitor. The user code, which can be associated with the connection details of a user registered on the Company's social network, is collected and processed when the fan pages are opened. In general, by creating a Fan Page, the administrator of the Fan Page allows the Company to place cookies on the device of the person who has visited the Fan Page (whether or not that person has a Facebook or Instagram account). The creation of a fan page implies that the administrator of the fan page has set parameters (according to its target group, management objectives or promotion of its activities) which have an impact on the processing of personal data for the purpose of compiling statistics obtained from visits to the fan page. The administrator of the page may, by means of filters provided by the Company, define the criteria on the basis of which these statistics are to be drawn up and also define the categories of persons whose personal data will be used by the Company. The existence of a joint responsibility of the operator of the social network and the administrator of the fan page hosted on this network with the processing of the personal data of the visitors of the fan page does not necessarily imply the same responsibility of both entities, since they may be involved in this processing at different stages and degrees. The fact that our fan page uses some of the tools of the social network operator (the "Like" or "Share" buttons used for the creation of statistics) means that a connection is established between the browser of the visitor to the fan page and the Company's servers.
