Admission Procedure
Application form and enclosures
- in electronic form: the form is available at the website of Matej Bel University E-Application UMB system and upload all compulsory enclosures BEFORE you save it. The applicant CONFIRMS the electronic application, prints it and sends it to the faculty by mail (regular post) together with the attachments.
- in written form: The applicant will list, sign, attach the required attachments.
The electronic application can be submitted from March 17, 2023 till May 26, 2023.
Enclosures to application form required by Faculty of Economics:
Full-time study applicant
- structured Curriculum Vitae (signed by the applicant),
- copy of payment receipt proving the fee for application was payed
- copy of passport (In order to avoid the mistake in your personal data please upload also the scan of your passport, so we can check the correctness of the written data in your Application form. Please check if your personal data in application form (name, date of birth) is identical to the data in your passport.)
- Notarized copies of documents of the previous education (diploma, certificate of state final exam) – graduates from Matej Bel University need not submit notarized copies
- Graduates from foreign universities (apart from Czech Republic) shall submit a copy of recognition of completed education from the Ministry of Ecucation of the SR (Act no. 422/2015 Coll.[1]
- Academic transcript for the whole previous Master study, including the average result for the whole study (the part „Výpis výsledkov“/Academic transcript in the application form is thus not applicable)
- List of published and non-published papers, reviews of these papers if possible (Bachelor or Diploma work is not applicable)
- two written recommendations for doctoral study by recognized scientists and educators (Associate Professor, Professor or Doctor – PhD / CSc)
- written project in the scope of 5 pages to outline the topic of dissertation, in PDF, signed by the supervisor who put up the topic)
Part-time study applicant / external form
- structured Curriculum Vitae (signed by the applicant),

[1] VERIFIED RECOGNITION OF COMPLETED HIGHER EDUCATION DOCUMENTS ISSUED IN SLOVAK LANGUAGE BY SLOVAK AUTHORITY
- The applicants who have completed the previous degree abroad must have the diploma recognized in the Slovak Republic. Please note that the Recognition must be issued by the Slovak authority in Slovak language.
Pursuant to § 33 of Act no. 422/2015 Coll. on recognition of evidence of formal qualifications as amended (hereinafter referred to as the Act) regarding the recognition of evidence of formal qualifications such as university diplomas, state exam certificates, certificates of awarded academic titles, pedagogic and scientific titles and degrees issued by other universities in an EU member state or another state, for the purpose of enrolment in UMB study programmes, the decision on recognition shall be made by:
A/ a recognized University in the Slovak Republic which provides study programmes in identical or similar fields of study to those defined on the submitted certificate of formal qualifications, or
B/ The Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, if there is no university that provides study programmes in identical or similar fields of study to those provided on the submitted certificate.

- We have to receive NOTARIZED PHOTOCOPY via post office (scan cannot be accepted).
- The applicants who had completed their study before 2023 are obliged to deliver the Recognition of completed higher education to the Faculty of Economics, MBU to May 26, 2023.
- The applicants who will only have completed their previous study in the course of 2023 are supposed to submit their Recognition of completed higher education no later than on the Enrolment Day.
- The applicants who fail to deliver the Recognition before 28 June 2023 shall only be admitted conditionally, despite passing the entrance exam. Faculty of Economics MBU cannot guarantee a room at its dormitories to such applicants. The admitted students shall submit the document recognizing the diploma no later than the day of enrolment.
